WIP: Ripple Blanket

leave a comment

A forever-WIP that I think I’m finally close to finishing. I started this ripple blanket maybe two years ago with some vintage yarn I recieved from g* swaps or bought at a thrift store. I guess I didn’t like how it was turning out, because I never really worked on it.

This summer, however, I made really good progress. As of tonight, it measures approx. 44″ x 52″ and is continuing to grow in length. It’s a mix of vintage yarns and now, leftover yarns from my stash that I am trying to use up before I fly out to Japan. The goal is to finish it before I fly out. I’m debating whether I should ship it to myself in Japan, but I hear that clothing and other fabrics can get moldy due to the humidity so it may just have to stay here in California and wait for me when I get back.

The yarns are mostly acrylic though there may be some wool/acrylic blends mixed in, and using a Size K hook.

Happy Birthday, Misfit Bunny!

leave a comment

The Misfit Bunny celebrates its one-year anniversary! I cannot believe it has already been a year since I published the book to the Blurb Bookstore.

Also, apologies for not updating the blog that often! I haven’t mentioned here, but I’m engaged to be married! So all my time and creative energy has been invested into planning this wedding. :) And any spare time I have from that is spent studying Japanese for the JLPT exam end of this year. I have so much to cram!

SPECIAL! Order The Misfit Bunny book & e-mail me a copy of the receipt, and I will send you a free Misfit Bunny!

Amigurumi Elephant (Favorite Color Swap)

one comment

I crocheted this amigurumi elephant for my swap partner in the Favorite Color Swap. If you can’t tell, her favorite color is blue.

It’s Neckwarmer Time!

checker-knit neckwarmer (by mmmfruit)

This is a checker-pattern buttoned knit neckwarmer I made over a year ago using handmade yarn from a swap. I wear it all time because it’s soft & cozy & unique. I get many compliments on it!

mock cable neckwarmer

This is a new mock-cable knit neckwarmer I made on the BART commute using a wool/acrylic blend of yarn and funky colored buttons. I haven’t worn it out yet (too much love for my checker-knit neckwarmer!), but am thinking of making its debut this spring! Mock cable based on this pattern.

I am thinking of making a couple of neckwarmers to post into the shop. It’s neckwarmer time! Rainy & cool but not cold enough for a scarf.
